Discover the history
Founded in 1856 by Giuseppe Allemano, the factory originally operates in the field of heavy carpentry, manufacturing steam-powered road rollers used in the construction of roads.
At the beginning of the 20th Century, thanks to the experience acquired in the control of pressure, the production changes heading towards measuring tools for the control of pressure and temperatures. Those pressure gauges were installed on board of military vehicles and Italian automobiles such as the Fiat 501 Torpedo, the very first to be serially-produced by Fiat and which is equipped with the 1919 Allemano pressure gauge.
The son Felice renamed the company into Allemano F. & Figli, empowering the manufacturing of precision mechanics for the creation of extremely high precise pressure gauges, thermometers and dynamometers, defining the logo which is currently used.
Allemano studies, plans and manufactures a full range of measuring instruments for the aviation, such as pressure gauges for the control of fuel and oil, as well as for rails and ships.
With a full range of precision instruments Allemano starts its collaboration with the mechanical industry, introducing its instruments on presses, industrial machineries and chemical and oil plants.
Allemano specializes in the crafting, assembly and calibration of underwater instruments, such as hyperbaric chambers, depth gauges and decompression gauges, taking over the brand SOS manufacturing the famous Allemano depth gauges, entirely planned, crafted and assembled in the historical headquarter in Turin.
Allemano creates its own calibration laboratory.
This is the year of the Misuratori del Tempo by Allemano, with a strictly past-related design and the strong will of being distinguishable today as once. The inspiration for this collection comes from the pressure gauge which exactly 100 years ago was installed on board of the FIAT 501 Torpedo.
Allemano becomes member of the Exclusive Brands Torino (EBT), the first Italian multi-sector business network that brings together the high-end companies promoted by the Industrial Union of Turin.
Allemano opens its first Boutique of the Measure in the elegant setting of Piazza Bodoni 1/F in Turin, showing the new face of a historic brand, but with a different cut. Therefore, not just watchmaking, but a place that encompasses the world of temperature, force, pressure and time measurement.
Allemano tells another piece of its history through the 1973 Collection, paying homage to its depth gauges that have laid down the law in underwater mechanics in the 1970s and 80s. The new line is indeed composed of a modern re-edition of the historic Crab and the new Shark underwater timepieces.
